Early in November of 2010, we (SMR Doublebasses) played host to Vasily Andreev, the Principal Bassist of the Moscow Philharmonic. It was great having a renowned virtuoso spending a week here; he particularly enjoyed playing “Antje,” the circa 1800 German 5/8ths bass (see image 19).
